The Quality Counts Teacher Recruitment & Retention grant was created and is funded through the Quality Counts, Charter School Program fund. The Teacher Recruitment & Retention Grant Program supports efforts to recruit, select, train, and retain highly effective teachers to teach in Indiana public charter schools. Funding is available for LEAs to conduct teacher recruitment and retention activities, especially for hard to recruit/retain teaching staff and in areas that have historically struggled with teacher recruitment and retention.
This grant's purpose is to provide the support for public charter school corporations in the area of teacher recruitment and retention in order to promote teacher quality and improved student academic outcomes.

Individuals recruited and trained by organizations and programs to be STEM teachers must seek licensure or training in K-12 science, technology, engineering or math subjects or content areas approved by the Indiana State Board of Education. Examples include:
All Indiana charter schools that are currently operating are eligible to apply for CSP Quality Counts Teacher Recruitment Retention funds.
Applications were to be submitted by May 1, 2019. A similar deadline is anticipated, biennially.
A total of $200,000 is available for Teacher Recruitment & Retention Grant Awards. Applications may apply for a minimum of $10,000 to a maximum of $50,000
