    History of Funding

    Since 1976, the Foundation has provided a total of 6,460 grants for a cumulative grant total of $250.4 million. In 2016, the Adolph Coors Foundation awarded $7.79 million to 124 organizations.

    Areas of funding the Foundation is not considering at this time:
    • Adaptive or winter sports programs
    • Animal or animal-related projects
    • Arts or arts-related projects
    • Church or church-related projects
    • Conferences or seminars
    • Credit counseling
    • Debt reduction
    • Domestic violence shelters
    • Emergency and basic services (food, housing)
    • GED classes
    • Health organizations (disease-specific and national)
    • Homelessness
    • Individuals
    • Media or film-related projects
    • Museum or museum-related projects
    • Preschools or daycare centers
    • Programs and organizations receiving 50% or more of revenue from government sources, including fee-for-service contracts
    • Research projects
    • Schools (public, charter or private) and associated foundations
    • Senior programs (nursing homes, extended-care facilities, respite care)
    • Start-up funding (organizations and programs must be in operation for at least one full year)
    The Foundation does not provide support for:
    • Schools or school related projects
    • Individuals
    • Seminars
    • One time events
    • Sponsorship for meetings
    • Disease specific national health organizations

  • Eligibility Details

    Eligible applicants are 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations in Colorado. Organizations located outside of Colorado are eligible for Public Policy grants.

    Deadline Details

    The annual deadlines to submit an application are March 1, July 1, and November 1, annually for Colorado nonprofits and March 1, annually for public policy nonprofits.
