    Summary

    The North Valley Community Foundation holds hundreds of individual funds, each embodying a community member's dream for a better world.


    NVCF offers the following grant programs:

    • Chico Children's Endowment Fund Grant Program: The Chico Children's Endowment Fund (CCEF) is a charitable fund of the North Valley Community Foundation dedicated to benefiting children in Chico and its surrounding areas with unmet physical, emotional or mental needs. The CCEF annual strategic grant program supports and strengthens organizations serving children.
    • Stiefvater Senior Endowment Grant Program: The Emil and Leonora Stiefvater Senior Endowment exists to support the emotional, physical and/or spiritual needs of older adults. Its grant program provides financial and infrastructure support to build capacity in nonprofit organizations that serve seniors.
    • The Yellow Door Cares Grant: As an expression of gratitude, The Yellow Door seeks to serve others by funding individuals with ASD and their families in a wide range of needs (but not limited to) education, medical expenses, food & shelter. Medical and education requests must have evidence of best practices as deemed by substantial scientific evidence as determined by the grant director. 
    • Lundberg Family Foundation: As an expression of gratitude, the Lundberg Family Foundation seeks to serve others by supporting organizations that strive to provide creative, sustainable opportunities for access to basic human services including (but not limited to) education, sustenance and shelter.
    • Music Therapy Impact Grant: Music therapy is the use of evidence-based music interventions to address spiritual, developmental and physical needs of the whole person. The immediate goals of the Music Therapy Impact Fund are to:
      • Develop a music therapy program for hospice and palliative care
      • Provide evidence that demonstrates the efficacy of music therapy in hospice and palliative care, specifically
      • Create the foundation for a community-initiated program that becomes an established mainstream service
      • Establish Chico as a place for innovative health care
      • Bring awareness to the profession of music therapy and the benefits in overall health care
    • Community Impact Grant: The Community Impact Fund of The Hignell Companies Foundation provides financial resources for the community in areas they are eager to make an impact. All grant applications are reviewed by the Community Impact Fund Advisory Team, made up of employees from The Hignell Companies. Grants are available for industry investment, social welfare, community betterment, and Christian spiritual growth and transformation.

    Recipients may only receive one grant in a 12-month period unless specifically invited to apply again by the committee.
